This page provides a high-level overview of all the supported channels currently available through Dexatel. Each channel serves a different use case and audience, and dedicated documentation pages will be added in the future to dive deeper into technical setup, capabilities, and best practices.

Key Features

  • Unified API for All Channels Integrate once and access multiple messaging and voice channels through a single platform.
  • Global Reach and Reliability Deliver messages and calls worldwide using carrier-grade infrastructure and trusted delivery routes.
  • Built-In Fallback Support Seamlessly configure multi-channel fallback flows (e.g., SMS → Viber → WhatsApp) to increase delivery success rates.
  • Channel-Level Reporting Track delivery metrics and user interactions across each channel in one unified dashboard.
  • Verified Sender Management Apply for and manage branded sender IDs or numbers where applicable.

How It Works

  1. Sign Up: Begin by signing up for Dexatel and obtaining your API key.
  2. Select a Channel: Choose the most appropriate communication channel based on your use case (e.g., promotional, transactional, verification).
  3. Configure Sender Settings: Depending on the channel, configure sender names, numbers, or templates via the Dexatel platform.
  4. Send Your Message or Initiate a Call: Use the Dexatel API to send a message or start a call. The payload and setup vary by channel but follow a consistent structure.
  5. Track Delivery and Interactions: Once the message or call is initiated, you can monitor status, delivery rates, and user interactions through the API or dashboard.

Supported Messaging Channels

  • SMS The most universal and reliable channel for reaching users across all device types and regions. Ideal for transactional alerts, reminders, and one-time codes.
  • Viber Rich messaging channel offering branded sender ID, images, buttons, and fallback-to-SMS support. Suitable for both promotional and service notifications.
  • WhatsApp A globally popular channel for engaging users with branded, end-to-end encrypted messages. Great for user updates, confirmations, and 2FA workflows.
  • Telegram (OTP Only) Lightweight, fast delivery of one-time codes to users on Telegram. This channel is currently supported for OTP-based verification use cases only.
  • Email (OTP Only) Deliver one-time passcodes to a user’s inbox. This channel is designed specifically for verification and identity confirmation flows.
  • Google RCS A modern replacement for SMS that enables branded, interactive messaging. Coverage is currently limited, and setup requires assistance from the Dexatel team.

Supported Voice-Based Channels

  • Voice API Programmatically initiate two-way voice calls using Dexatel’s Voice API. Audio is streamed in real time over WebSocket for full call control and interaction. Currently available in early access for selected customers.
  • Flash Calls A fast and cost-effective verification method where the user receives a missed call, and the last digits of the caller ID are used as the verification code.
  • Text-to-Speech (TTS) An automated voice verification method where a machine reads the OTP code during a live call. Best suited for users who cannot receive SMS or app-based codes.

  • Multi-Channel Flexibility Choose the right channel for each use case, user, and region.
