SMS Verify API - Get Started
Welcome to the Dexatel SMS Verify API documentation. This guide is designed to help you quickly set up and start using the Dexatel SMS Verify API, enabling you to easily send verification messages and implement two-factor authentication (2FA). Follow these simple steps to get started.
Step 1 - Account Registration
To use the Dexatel SMS Verify API, you must first create an account with Dexatel. Here's how:
- Visit Dexatel.com and click on the "Sign Up" or "Start for Free" button.
- Fill out the registration form with your details, including your name and email address.
- Verify your email address by clicking on the verification link sent to your email.
- Follow the instructions to finalize your account verification. Once done - you will be taken directly to your account Dashboard.
Step 2 - Generating API Key
An API key is required to authenticate your Dexatel SMS Verify API requests. To generate an API key:
- Log in to your Dexatel dashboard.
- Navigate to the "APIs" section in the navigation menu on the left-hand side.
- Click on the "Create a Key" button. You may be prompted to enter a name or description for the key, which will help it be easily identified.
Once created, copy and securely store your API key. You will need this key to make API requests.
Step 3 - Registering Sender ID
A Sender ID is the name or number that appears as the sender of an SMS message. To register a Sender ID:
- In your Dexatel dashboard, go to the "Sender IDs" section.
- Click on the "Register New Sender ID" button. Depending on your preference, you may register a Sender ID through the dashboard or programmatically via the API.
- Fill in the required details for your Sender ID. If registering through the dashboard, follow the on-screen instructions. If using the API, refer to the Sender ID registration endpoint in the API documentation.
- Submit your Sender ID for approval. Note that approval times may vary depending on the country and carrier.
